Our idea
The idea of offering the Algordanza memorial diamond as a piece of jewelry is almost as old as the memorial diamond itself. Concepts were developed in many discussions with customers, jewelers and goldsmiths, but were rejected again due to a lack of suitable partners.
It is an art to set a diamond well, and this applies in particular to the Algordanza Memorial Diamonds created in Switzerland. Because they have a special origin and significance! In this respect, the expectations in terms of technical expertise, safety in handling and processing as well as trust in the reliability of the partner as a jewelry manufacturer can – and must – be very high. Every memorial diamond is unique and must be treated accordingly.
After a long search, in the 20th year of Algordanza’s existence we have now succeeded in finding renowned partners for the setting of Algordanza’s memorial diamonds. We can therefore offer you the highest quality finishes for both the jewelry and the necklaces. Both companies impress with the transparency of their processes and comprehensive quality control in all stages of the process.
Our partners
Quality, expertise and reliability were the key factors when selecting our partners for setting our memorial diamonds. We found what we were looking for in the southwest of Germany: in Pforzheim.
Our partner for rings, pendants and brooches was founded in 1933 and is the leading international wedding ring and jewelry specialist. Successfully combining innovation and quality while preserving tradition and emotion, it combines traditional goldsmithing with state-of-the-art technologies. From the design to the casting of the blanks in the injection molding process and the subsequent processing and setting, all process steps take place at our local partner: 100% Made in Germany.
Our partner who creates the necklaces for our pendants is also based in Pforzheim. Founded in 1910, this company is the market leader for jewelry necklaces in Germany. Jewelry production at the highest level is made possible by in-house mechanical engineering and the use of various high-tech production processes in the manufacture of jewelry necklaces.
Both partners are certified by the RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council) and are committed to complying with the Code of Practices (CoP). This formulates comprehensive requirements in the areas of human rights, working conditions, environmental impact and ethical business practices. Anyone who passes the RJC audit and receives the certificate is considered a sustainable producer of jewelry and watches. In addition, both partners have the supplementary and voluntary RJC CoC certification, whereby CoC stands for “Chain of Custody” and certifies that the precious metal used in the value chain is traceable and comes from responsible sources.
Our jewelry
Each Algordanza memorial diamond is unique and individually embodies the memory of a loved one. It was therefore important to Algordanza from the outset that the piece of jewelry surrounding it should also be unique and harmonize well with the memorial diamond.
In close consultation with experienced jewelry specialists and designers, we have decided on two different collections: “Seria d’Amur” and “Seria Clerezza”. These collections were designed exclusively for Algordanza and are offered exclusively by Algordanza.
Seria d'Amur
D’Amur stands for love in the Rhaeto-Romanic language, and the pieces in the collection express this in a dignified way. The design language of Seria d’Amur is elegant, curved and dignified.
The material of the setting flows around the memorial diamond and encloses it securely, protecting and preserving it. At the same time, a slightly cut-out bezel setting gives the memorial diamond the freedom to shine. The Seria d’Amur therefore perfectly embodies the love of a long partnership: keeping safe and enjoying freedom together.
Seria Clerezza
The Seria Clerezza speaks a clear and minimalist design language. In this collection, the focus is clearly on the memorial diamond. The term Clerezza means “clarity” in the Rhaeto-Romanic language.
In the Seria Clerezza, the setting is designed as a frame or strong 4-claw setting. It not only preserves and protects the commemorative diamond visually. Both the setting rim and the prongs are therefore wider than usual. The “da crusch” objects also feature a delicate reference to the Christian symbolism of the cross.
A special feature of the Seria Clerezza is that uncut rough diamonds can also be set.
We also offer high-quality alternatives with additional diamonds (pavé) set in eyelets or on ring shoulders for the items in the Clerezza series.
Materials, design, services and engraving
Our collections are offered exclusively in high-quality 18 carat gold or in platinum 950 versions. For gold, a choice of red gold, white gold and yellow gold is possible, whereby the objects in white gold are additionally rhodium-plated to protect the surfaces. All metals used are traceable according to RJC/CoC and come from responsible sources.
The rings are manufactured using the injection molding process and are therefore much more durable and retain their shape better than standard rings. Each ring, like each brooch or pendant, is individually made and “Made in Germany”.
Due to the specific shape, not every piece of jewelry is suitable for every diamond size. We therefore ask you to take the existing or ordered size of your memorial diamond into account when selecting your piece of jewelry.
We also offer the option of engraving exclusively for the rings. Engravings can be applied to the inside of the rings. They can be supplied by the customer as text or as graphic templates: for example, small fingerprints on the inside of the ring are also possible.
People and hands change over time. For this reason, we also offer a special service where the rings we deliver can be resized by +/- 2 ring sizes at a low cost.
We do not differentiate the price based on the desired ring size. Even if the material is of very high quality, the production and setting are also cost-intensive items.
Shipping and storage boxes
All jewelry from Algordanza is presented in high-quality wooden boxes. The wooden boxes are made of solid walnut wood and are secured with a magnetic clasp. They are not only suitable for shipping, but also for stylish and dignified storage of the set memorial diamond.
The wood used for the boxes comes from sustainably managed forests and is FSC-certified.
Jewelry order process
- You visit our website and…
- select one or more pieces of jewelry on the website,
- create a complete profile and
- place an order.
- The Algordanza team will check your order details and link your jewelry order to a corresponding existing diamond order.
- We will send you an order confirmation by e-mail. If you have decided on a ring, you will also receive a free verification tool from us by post to measure the correct ring width.
- If you have ordered a ring, you have a further four weeks to inform us of the corrected ring size. After these four weeks, you will be charged for changing the ring size.
- After your memorial diamond has been completed, we will send you an invoice for your piece of jewelry by e-mail and also inform your funeral director about the next steps.
- When the memorial diamond has been set, the funeral home will be informed. Your funeral director will inform you of the imminent arrival of your memento.
- The set memorial diamond is sent to the funeral home.
- Your funeral director will arrange an appointment with you to hand over the set memorial diamond and will give you the set memorial diamond. Handover can only take place after payment for the piece(s) of jewelry. Therefore, please ensure that our invoice is settled beforehand.
For situations in which one or more memorial diamonds already exist, it is possible to inform Algordanza of this when ordering on the website.
In this case, you will receive the shipping documents for the memorial diamond together with the verification tool for measuring the ring width once the order has been placed. The memorial diamond will be collected by our logistics service provider and returned to you set after the piece of jewelry has been created.
